Affiliate Marketing is a very interesting way of making money from a blog.
But, if you are beginner blogger or have yet to start a blog; affiliate marketing can sometimes be very confusing.
The true fact is, Affiliate marketing doesn’t have to be difficult to understand. This is a step by step guide for beginners who are not sure what affiliate marketing is.
I hope by reading this post beginners will have a better understanding of “What is Affiliate Marketing and how does it work” in its simplest form.
Definition:
What is Affiliate Marketing?
According to Investopedia definition:
Affiliate marketing is define as an advertising model where a company pays compensation to third-party publishers to generate traffic or leads to the company’s products and services. The third-party publishers are referred to as affiliates and the commission fee incentivizes them to find ways to promote the company.

Thus, all this simply mean that if a blogger who is the affiliate marketer promotes a certain company’s product or service on their blog.
When someone purchased the products or services through their affiliate link, the blogger (that is the affiliate marketer) will get a commission for that sale.
How Does Affiliate Marketing Work On A Blog?
Affiliate Marketing program is a business model that is widely used in the blogging world.
Bloggers around the world have been using this popular method to monetizing their blogs. This has helped them make $1000+ or even $10,000+ dollars every month through affiliate marketing.
Thus, how does an affiliate link look like on a blog and how does a blogger make money online as an affiliate marketer?
When a blogger joins a particular affiliate marketing company. That company will provide the blogger with a unique affiliate link or code.
For Example, this is how an Awin Esty affiliate link looks like:
When you click the link above, it will lead you to the Esty product that the blogger is trying to promote.
Therefore, if the visitor purchased the product, the blogger will earn a commission. It can be 4%, 15% or even more. It greatly
But the thing is placing such a long link is not aesthetic and I doubt anyone will click on it.
This is the reason why some affiliate marketing company will sometime provide marketing promotional material such as Graphic banners, button, text link, etc to help the blogger promote their products.
This is how it finally looks like in the blogger’s blog post:
For Text link: Printable Blog Planner
For Graphic link:
Now this is much more appealing, isn’t it?
When you hoover over the text or graphic link, you can see the affiliate link at the bottom of your screen.
Do y ou have an example of a website using affiliate marketing?
