I can still remember last year when I was filling up a form with a particular question asking me: What is your blog niche?” At that point in time, I do not know how to answer. My mind went blank.
What Is My Niche?
I started blogging just to satisfy my own curiosity. I want to know if all those blog income posts that I have read about are true. Since they are mainly from the USA, I would like to find out whether will it be possible for me too.

This blog that I started will be a record of my personal journey to learn whether is it possible to make money with blogging. My reward for this journey will be the money I made.
So, back to the question, what is my blog niche, I have no idea at all.
After a year and 3 months in blogging, I come to the conclusion that my blog niche will be “How to make money as a blogger” or “How to make money blogging”.
What Is Blog Niche?
If you are new to blogging, you might be just like me (when I first started) and do not know what it means by “Blog Niche”.
According to “Wikipedia“:
Niche blogging is the act of creating a blog with the intent of using it to market to a particular niche market. Niche blogs (also commonly referred to as “niche websites”) may appeal to “geographic areas, a specialty industry, ethnic or age groups, or any other particular group of people.”
In my own understanding (hope I am not wrong), it just means you create a blog about a certain topic, such as if you like gardening and you blog about all things related to gardening, then your blog niche will be “Gardening”.
But the thing about blog niches is, that not all niches are made equal. What I mean is if your main purpose to start a blog is to make money then choosing the right niche is important.
What I have learned in this journey is that some blog niches will help you make more money than others.
All About Demand And Supply
This world is run by demand and supply. Thus, the bigger the demand, the potential to make more money or even a six-figure income is possible, and vice versa.
Let’s take Gardening as an example again. Instead of starting a Gardening blog, you decided to niche down further to start a Sunflower blog as you are a Sunflower fanatic. The question now is “will there be an audience for this niche? If there is, how big is it?”
If your intention to start a blog is to make a lot of money, then having a Sunflower blog might not be what you are looking for. Instead of focusing solely on Sunflower, you might want to look at a bigger picture and start a Gardening blog but have a special section for Sunflower.
How Do You Know What Type of Blogs Make The Most Money?
The first time I came across the term “blog niche”, I could not think of any blog niche at all. It was so foreign to me.
But actually, if you think about, it is everywhere. You can find it in your local newspaper, advertisement, etc.
It does not matter where you are located. We humans are all the same.
Think about it. Do you love to eat? Are you into fashion and beauty? How about health and fitness? Tech and Gaming, how often do you play computer games? Money, Do you want to learn how to make money with blogging or you
What Type Of Blog Niches Make The Most Money
Do you have any ideas about which blog niches make the most money? They all have three things in common –
Firstly, it has a very big market = High Demand.
Secondly, people are interested enough to find out more about it = such as looking for ways to solve their problems.
Thirdly, people are willing to pay for their products or services = $!
Be it online or offline.
From what I have written above, I believe you all already have ideas what are the profitable blog niches.
But instead of just listing out the 7 profitable blog niches, what I will do is, I will show you some examples of bloggers that make money from these blog niches too.
Just a note, none of the below is of any order. Begin number one doesn’t mean is the most profitable.

Personal finance blog covered topics such as how to save money, how to do budgeting,
How many people actually learn how to manage their money when young? Money affects every one of us and yet the money management course is not taught in school.
Credit card debt is mounting higher than ever (Credit card debt statistics). This is not just America, in Singapore, we are facing the same situation similar to the rest of the world. Let’s just face it, we are not good at money matters.
People are looking for a solution to their money problem. These bloggers came and started teaching how they themselves get out of debt, how to live frugally, and how to make money. etc.
As there is a huge amount of interest in these topics, personal finance blogs tend to generate a lot of traffic to their blog.

2. How To Make Money
“Personal finance” and “How to make money” blog niches seem to overlap each other in certain topics.
Both niches touch upon the topic of “How to make money” Thus, the
Can I safely say everyone is interested in learning how to make money? Many are looking at ways to earn more money.
With the internet, your audience is worldwide. Just image, how big is your audience.
Therefore, starting a blog about making money is one of the popular niches that many beginner bloggers start with.
But the truth is, there are other blog niches you can start with, not just ” blogs about making money”.

3. Food
We just love food. Isn’t it?
The food industry is a huge market. Look around you, new restaurants are opening almost every day. There are Korean, Western, Chinese, etc. You name it, they have it!
People want to learn new recipes. They might be searching for ways to cook a healthy meal at home. How to make a home cook meal in less than 30 mins as most of us have so little time.
By the way, if you are interested in learning how to cook Korean dishes, I recommend Maangchi (see link below). I just love her recipes, very authentic.

Health and Fitness industries are growing year by year. An article in Forbes dated Sept 26, 2018 – The Six Reasons The Fitness Industry Is Booming, explains the reasons behind it.
According to Statista, ” The global fitness and health club industry generates more than 80 billion U.S. dollars in revenue per year. People are looking for ways to lose weight and be more healthy.
The number speaks for itself. I do not think I have to explain further. 🙂

Just like the Health and Fitness industry, the
The fun thing about beauty and fashion blogs is you might even have a chance to test these products or even gain access to some beauty and fashion events.
As beauty and fashion a very visual things, most bloggers in this niche will focus on Instagram or YouTube.

6. Travel
Have you dreamed of traveling around the world and still get paid? These travel bloggers did just that!
If you like to travel, this might be the blog niche you can start with.

7. Lifestyle
The topics for the Lifestyle blog are very broad but if you think you can just write anything and be successful, think again.
To be successful in this niche, you need to be able to solve the problems that many people are facing, such as how to declutter your home. It could also be something a lot of people are passionate about, for example, bullet journal or RV Living.

To tell you the truth, no.
There are a lot of ways to make money blogging and not all fall into these 7 blog niches.

Frankly speaking, starting a blog is not rocket science, and it’s the same as choosing a blog niche to start with.
Have you heard of “Analysis paralysis“? Paralysis by analysis means that you are at a state of over-analyzing (or over-thinking) a situation so that a decision or action is never taken.

One thing I learned from Blog Simple Frame Work is that when deciding which type of blog niche to start, all you need to do is do a search on those blogs that are already making money.
Do not over think so too much. Be consistant, set your eyes on the goals that you needed to achieve as a new blog and starts your blogging journey.
Remember taking action is the most important step you need to bring you where you want to be.
